Let's start your journey
together
Starting pet loss grief work is a courageous step toward healing and honoring the deep bond you share with your beloved companion. You deserve a safe space to process your pain, find comfort, and begin transforming your grief into gentle remembrance.

There are three compassionate and personalized ways to work with me on your pet loss journey. First, in collaboration with Dr. Freed and Golden Years Veterinary Services, I offer additional support as a separate option to complement her in-home care. Second, my six-week pet loss grief support course is highly individualized, focusing on your unique healing process and helping you honor your pet while moving forward in a meaningful way. Lastly, I also offer my services as a pet death doula, providing compassionate support during this sensitive time, with the option to continue on to my six-week course for further healing.

Pet Death Doula Service
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of life’s most tender and challenging moments. As a pet death doula, my role is to provide you with compassionate support and guidance through this sacred transition.
How It Works:
• Initial Consultation: We begin with a phone conversation where I’ll listen to your concerns, explain the process, and assess if in-home euthanasia is the right choice for you and your pet.
• Coordination with Dr. Freed: Once we determine the best path forward, I’ll handle all the arrangements and refer you to Dr. Freed at Golden Years Veterinary Services, ensuring every detail is taken care of.
• Ongoing Support: I’ll check in with you twice before the scheduled in-home euthanasia and twice afterward, via Zoom or by telephone, your preference, and at your own pace, to ensure you feel supported and cared for throughout the process.
• Flexibility: If Dr. Freed isn’t available or if you prefer another option, I have additional resources to ensure you receive the best care possible.
The focus is on making this experience as peaceful and meaningful as possible, allowing you to concentrate on the moment and the bond you shared with your pet, while I take care of the logistics.
And after the process, if you feel you need further support, you’re always welcome to join my six-week grief support course.

The work I do with Under the Guiding Star is deeply connected to the compassionate care of Dr. Stephanie Freed, the founder of Golden Years Veterinary Services. Our paths first crossed during my beloved Chachie’s end-of-life journey. I knew I wanted an in-home euthanasia for him — something peaceful, loving, and surrounded by the comforts of home. That search led me to Dr. Freed, whose warmth, gentleness, and deep respect for both animals and their humans immediately resonated with me.
The experience of saying goodbye to Chachie with Dr. Freed’s support changed me profoundly. Her presence was calm and steady, her care both clinical and deeply human. She provided not only medical expertise, but also emotional grace during one of the hardest moments of my life. That experience left me with an enduring respect for her work — and a clear knowing that the kind of care she provides deserves to be shared with others.
Today, I’m honored to collaborate with Dr. Freed and Golden Years Veterinary Services to help pet parents navigate the sacred transition of their beloved companions’ final chapter. Together, we strive to ensure that every family receives not only expert veterinary care, but also emotional and spiritual support — a partnership that honors both the science and the soul of saying goodbye.
Our shared mission is simple: to create the most comforting, compassionate, and love-filled experience possible for pets and the people who cherish them.
